A-Division Tournament MVP-Liz Steen

DSUL has never designated a tournament MVP but we are making an exception this year. Liz Steen had to play savage for the full 4 games of our season ending A-Division tournament. In Team 10A's second game against Randy Rick's #1 seeded team 5A (10A was seeded 8th), his team voted to NOT allow 10A to pick up another woman. It wasn't a unanimous vote, there were some good spirited dissenters like Kathy O'Connor and Katie Clayman. So, not only was Liz playing savage she was the only woman playing for 10A in that game! Team 10A had to play a loose 6-person zone against the best team in the division. 5A turned it over on their first possession very near to 10A's goal line and 10A quickly converted. After that lead 10A never let up and they went on to win 11-8. They then played two more great games and took down the A-Division DSUL Championship. Team 10A could not have done it without Liz!
